From Hell to Disco Live Report – April 18, 2025

Another night hard to forget at From Hell to Disco.

Date: April 18, 2025
Venue: 78/33, Barcelona
Line-up: Newborn Ghost (Bela solo), Bela & Carmilla (presentation of Lumina Obscura), WeLoveDolceVita + DJ set by Carmilla Sioux

Despite coinciding with the Easter holiday, From Hell to Disco once again proved why it has become an essential event within Barcelona’s darkwave and EBM scene.

The night opened with a different format. Newborn Ghost took the stage with Bela as the sole representative. Used to seeing the full band, it was impossible not to miss Ev and Josh. However, Bela, now fully established as a frontwoman, filled the small 78/33 stage with her dark and vibrant voice, delivering a more intimate performance than usual without losing the energy and ferocity we have come to expect.

The Debut of Bela and Carmilla: “Lumina Obscura” Live

The next chapter of the night brought the moment many had been waiting for. Bela joined Carmilla, known as a regular behind the decks, to present their new joint project and the EP Lumina Obscura.

Seeing Carmilla playing bass was one of those moments that define the authenticity of the local scene. Free from rigidity, the chemistry between them was evident in every track. Shared glances, smiles between chords, and that clear sense that they were fully enjoying what they were doing.

Lumina Obscura sounded powerful and fresh, delivering a very dark strain of EBM.

WeLoveDolceVita: Bilbao Conquers Barcelona

To close the live performances, WeLoveDolceVita arrived from Bilbao and unleashed the full force of their sound. A striking live show marked by their characteristic light design, transforming the small club into a space of contrasts and strobe-driven pulses.

Their set balanced intensity and emotion with precision, presenting a muscular, uncompromising EBM that made every corner of 78/33 vibrate. With elegant charisma and a carefully calibrated selection of tracks, WeLoveDolceVita made it clear that the north pulses strongly within the dark scene as well.

Carmilla Sioux: The Soul Behind the Booth

Between performances and to close the night, Carmilla Sioux returned to the booth with a flawless session. Her setlist wove together the darker edges of darkwave, minimal synth, and the harsher side of EBM, keeping the dancefloor alive and connected until the very end.

Few DJs manage to maintain that level of sensitivity when reading the room and delivering exactly what the moment demands.

Conclusion: From Hell to Disco, Stronger Than Ever

Events like From Hell to Disco are the real heartbeat of the scene. Intimate, authentic, where passion outweighs any external circumstance. Neither the holidays nor the calendar managed to diminish the strength of this night.

Congratulations to Carmilla for the organization and to all the artists involved. We are already counting the days until the next From Hell to Disco.
