February 21 · Dead Of Winter Dark Arts Festival in New York
Although Other Voices is based in Barcelona, our online radio has been allowing us to connect with scenes far beyond Europe. And when a proposal like this reaches us, we pay attention. This is the case with Nocturnal Creatures NY, celebrating the 16th anniversary of its Dead Of Winter – Dark Arts Festival in Amityville, Long Island (New York).
The event will take place on February 21 at AMH (Amityville Music Hall), with doors opening at 7:00 PM. Entry is 21+. This is not a new or improvised event: sixteen years support a festival that has previously featured names such as Velvet Acid Christ, The Birthday Massacre, Orgy, The Crüxshadows, Aesthetic Perfection, 3TEETH, and Hanzel und Gretyl, among many others.
This year’s live performances will be led by New York band None Shall Remain, joined by STARE AWAY. On the DJ side, the lineup includes Siren, Tyranny, Tony Black, MK.3, and Kamikaze Tomato (Sanctified), covering different angles of the dark scene.
The festival goes beyond concerts. There will be a performance by Airfairry, visual projections, a pop-up art show curated by Fae Rae, glam makeup by Arts of AGoldfire, and various vendors coordinated by The Perks Dept. The evening’s host will be Jess-O-Lantern.
Dead Of Winter is an annual gathering point for the New York dark community. And even though we are thousands of kilometers away, we love seeing this kind of event thriving within the global scene.
